HIFU Skin Treatment

HIFU is a non-surgical skin treatment which is used to tighten, smooth, and firm your skin. During the HIFU skin treatment, HIFU energy quickly causes the treated tissue to warm up. This heat creates something called a thermal injury which tricks the body into repair mode, thus producing new collagen and elastin.

The treatment can target different depths of your skin, from the top layer all the way down to the SMAS which is a mesh that lays over the top of your muscle, which results in tighter, firmer, and smoother skin.

Things You Should Know About the HIFU Facial

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, or HIFU for short, is a skin treatment for those who have skin sagging, crepiness, and other signs of skin ageing; one of the best-known brands of HIFU is Ultherapy.

Although the HIFU facial is super popular at our Hertfordshire HIFU skin clinic, you can also have HIFU treatments on the neck, chest, or body which sometimes surprises some people. We’re asked questions about HIFU both in-clinic during the consultation, as well as over the phone or via DM when clients are wanting to find out a little more about this skin treatment. I’m going to give you some of our FAQs all in one place to make your research a little easier.

FAQ

Does HIFU Skin Tightening Work?

Yes! At our HIFU skin clinic, we only ever offer treatments that have clinical papers that show their efficacy.

HIFU is more suited to mild to moderate skin laxity. Non-invasive treatments are not likely to give those who require surgical treatment their ultimate results. Having said that, those who have more advanced skin sagging and signs of ageing can consider combining HIFU with other non-invasive skin treatments should they not be interested in surgery.

We offer HIFU treatments for both your face and body following a thorough consultation at our HIFU skin clinic based in London Clinic, Nottingham Clinic.

On average, full results are seen around three months after you’ve finished your course of HIFU.

HIFU is a safe, non-invasive treatment when performed by a fully trained practitioner. Mild redness, swelling or tingling may occur immediately after treatment but usually settles quickly, allowing you to resume normal activities straight away. Rare side effects include temporary numbness or bruising, which typically resolve within days.

Although HIFU is often referred to for skin tightening, it also reduces wrinkles and generally smooths your skin.

HIFU is ideal for the face. It can tighten sagging skin, redefine your features (such as your jawline), smooth your skin, and reduce your wrinkles. HIFU can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and body.
